Casetrackerlaw Gets A Face Lift

As you know, a face lift is a medical procedure a person will go through in order to look younger, better, brighter...and when this procedure is being performed, the person getting the face lift is out of order for a while and so are the people around them. Well, our 'office' is getting a face lift.

A face lift is not really the right word. More like total reconstruction. They 'the bosses' decided that 'our office' was in need of some new flooring, paint, possibly some new office furniture and decor. They thought it would be a good idea since it hadn't been done in years (don't know how many years) but it must have been a long time, there was alot of dust. They pulled baseboards off the walls...painted them, ready to put back, layed down the biggest square marble tiles I've ever seen and painted all the walls. (the bathroom too) They (the workmen, 5 all together) were at 'the office' by 9:00 am every morning.

It all started one a week ago. Normally 'our office' is pretty quiet, just normal office phone chatter, occasional phones ringing, occasional copiers copying..you know the sound. For the past week and a half I have come to work not knowing where I will be working from that day or where my desk would be. I have had to work from a couple of different locations so far, it's hard to get any substantial work done during this reconstruction phase. I'll be talking on the phone and all of a sudden there will be the sound of a power tool like, literally right behind my chair or there will be the sound of someone pounding on something and then there would be total silence for a while. Oh let me tell you about the dust. Every morning I come in and have to dust off my phone, my chair, my pen...just kidding. I think it will be great when it's finished, almost like a brand new place to come to work every day. Now they need to upgrade the outside, maybe put in a small pool for the 'office staff', but until then........we'll try to survive.
